I tell you who the first two he needs to tell to find a Southern Conference school--the Berry Gods, er, I mean Twins.

I don't think that they need to renigg on any offers yet, but if they get a few more wanting to come here they'll have to make some adjustments. If they enroll in January do they count against 2013 instead of 2014? Somebody will probably not get admitted, somebody could get arrested, some might gray shirt. Doubt that any of the Legacy Boys will be asked to give back their offers.
BTW, the #2 class coupled with the "Legacies" are what gives me hope. Bates, Wharton, Creamer... they have more invested than a typical recruit that doesn't care where they play as long as they play. BY the time those guys are seniors I expect that the program will be clearly relevant again.
"Brick by Brick". "Legacies". "Git er done".

And I understand all that, Gramps. Really. But I see Malzahn being instantly competitive as a first year coach. He appears to me to be head and shoulders above Butch by any measureable. And definitely Richt staying at GA is a help. Yep, Malzhan is a heck of a coach and has done a great job with the Barners, but if you look at who he had on the roster when he got there it appears that he has benefited from inheriting a better talent level than has Butch.

You can believe that's because no one went after them because they were UT locks if you want. But that isn't how recruiting works. They can't keep all of 'em. Very doubtful to me that they are in the top 30 of the 35 or so they can sign.

They can place early enrollees in other classes and that is bound to be part of the strategy.

The one kid was quoted as saying UT was his only choice. I'm not gonna bother looking up the link but it was in that AJC story the day they announced.

Freshman are much more prepared to play. 20 years ago you rarely (if ever) saw a true frosh play. Heck, I think Bammer has played like 15 this year.

Yep. plus if you redshirt a player with real potential then you risk only actually having him play for 2 seasons since he can leave early for the NFL after 3 years out of high school, whether he redshirts or not. If they can play as freshman they play - period.

Johnny redshirted Pickens and Dale Carter on the team that started 0-6.
I think.

Ah heck, I don't know. All I know about recruiting is what I see on Twitter retweets.
I would agree that with 30+ players surely to goodness there will be some difference makers in there.
Seems I did see no QB's are committed. That is very bad, IMO. You oughta sign at least one every year. For damn sure that is true with who we are currently running out there.
