I can give the guy a pass on this season, record-wise. But I cannot see anything, that tells me we are going to get "Back" to prominence anytime soon.
I hope he is learning, the SEC is not the Big East, or the MAC.
Because that middle school offense is not going to get it don in the SEC.

I'm giving Butch a pass until he gets "his" recruiting classes in. The talent level is so bad right now that I'm not sure it is fair to judge anybody just yet. Don't know if he'll be successful or not, but at least he will either sink or swim with his own recruits. The 2015 season is huge in my book.

Dooly left Butch with nothing. There are some good players but not nearly enough. A lot of the defenders have to play almost every play. They were getting after it earlier in the year but are probably beat down and worn out now. They have very little team speed.
They will be OK when more and better players get here.

We will be hiring another coach in three years. Butch is every bit the equal of Dooley in actual coaching the game. Preparation, in game adjustments, play calling, everything is done poorly.
I mean, that's a helluva feat to have two 90 yard kicks housed on you in the same game. It's a helluva feat for the opposing team to only throw 7 passes in the 21st century.
You guys can stick this recruiting stuff up your ass. The man can't coach them no matter if he brings the 49ers roster in here.

We won big when Fulmer and staff were recruiting well, and outside of Cut we never had coaches known for Xs and Os, but rather for bringing in Jimmys and Joes. Jones is a better "on the field" coach than Fulmer ever was. You win big in the SEC with talent.

The defense has no speed, just an okay running game, only one legit receiver. I think it was a great accomplishment they almost beat Georgia and beat South Carolina.
Alabama has no trouble with these spread option offenses with a running QB because they have big, fast players on defense. UT has no one like that. As much as people sing the praises of A.J. Johnson, he is slow by SEC standards. The defensive line is also slow. Unless they can get up the field while a QB is still in the pocket, teams run right by them.
I can't say yet whether Jones or the coordinators are up to SEC standards or not because they don't have enough cards to play with.

Look, you guys can say there goes drunk Cowboy all you want. Good coaches figure out a helluva lot more than what we saw out there yesterday.
Good coaches don't allow 500 damn yards rushing in their own fing stadium. Good coaches make a team who is facing virtually identical circumstances throw the ball in the double digits.
Good coaches don't allow EPIC return days in OUR FUCKING STADIUM.
Good coaches are competitive before cheating their ass off recruiting.
Buncha damn dumbass sheep.

Guys, I am not saying Lyle Jones and this staff will never get it done.
But PLEASE stop making excuses for them. We all get it. We don't have a ton of talent.
But my point is, there is not one darn thing they have done, that shows me, we can proclaim he is going to "Get it done".
He may be the next Nick Saban. I doubt it, but let's say he is the next Gus Malzhan.
As of now, I have not seen much, that tells me he is going to turn things around.
EVERY SINGLE COACH IN THE WORLD is a great coach, when they have great talent.
Now, what makes any of you think Lyle Jones is going to "Get it done" ?

And Remember Dooley's first class? It had good talent.
And every coach works their rear end off, the first year.
Fulmer worked like crazy, until he won some hardware.
I am just tired of being told I am a fair weather fan, when I say we are not good, and will not be competitive for several years.

I don't believe that being depressed after these last few games makes anyone a bad fan. I also don't believe that everyone is going to be as absolutely certain as some are that Jones is a bust. The performance this season has been way too erratic to reach any conclusions, imo. There have been times of determination, execution & resilience as well as times that just stink out loud.

Cowboy and Magnum - I'm not saying that at all. What I am saying is that we have no clue if these guys can coach or not. We are way out talented, and talent wins in the SEC. We'll find out how good they are at coaching the next two games when the talent is more even. When talent is more even, then coaching shows up.

We have no idea if Lyle Jones will be the next Bob Neyland, or the next Derrick Dooley. I am just talking about the people who continue to say he will "Get it done" and give him a pass for getting blown out at home. Actually, getting flat out embarrassed at home. I understand we are out talented, but we heard that with Dooley his first year.
