I don't believe that being depressed after these last few games makes anyone a bad fan. I also don't believe that everyone is going to be as absolutely certain as some are that Jones is a bust. The performance this season has been way too erratic to reach any conclusions, imo. There have been times of determination, execution & resilience as well as times that just stink out loud. Another good post by the wise old man!

Wolfgang makes more sense than anyone, per usual.
Getting redneck pissed or Osky bathwater-drinking supportive are both equally mental at this point.

Redneck pissed is a good one.

I am just to the point, where I am not getting fired up either way. I am not feeling that he is going to get it done, and I am not feeling he is already a complete bust.
People believing we will be back, next year are just hoping we will be back.
I am really just wanting this year to be over, so we can move past the suck.
We are the Tennessee Volunteers and we need to be better than what we've seen.

It will be 2015 before UT starts to move the needle. And by moving the needle, I'm talking 7-9 wins.
I absolutely hate football season. It's bad enough that we lick ass, but vandy can beat fla and ga in the same year and the west Alabama dwarf is f'ing unbeatable. Sickening

See, me and Murphy Slaw Roofing are on the same wavelength here.
We are so down right now, that we can have 2 good crootin classes, and still not be in the top half of the East.
I do hope the guy improves each year.

I very much like his chances of improving. There is almost literally no way that won't happen.

Gus Bus at Barn might have the opp problem. Win too much too soon.
Barn people are expecting to win these last 2 games. before the season they would have been thrilled with 9-3. 9-3 now is "utter" failure

They will run Georgia out of the stadium. Beat Alabama? Seems impossible but I've seen other less likely results.

Cowboy and Magnum - I'm not saying that at all. What I am saying is that we have no clue if these guys can coach or not. We are way out talented, and talent wins in the SEC. We'll find out how good they are at coaching the next two games when the talent is more even. When talent is more even, then coaching shows up. he is There. I agree with that post, 100%. We have no idea if Lyle Jones will be the next Bob Neyland, or the next Derrick Dooley. I am just talking about the people who continue to say he will "Get it done" and give him a pass for getting blown out at home. Actually, getting flat out embarrassed at home. I understand we are out talented, but we heard that with Dooley his first year. OK Man. I'll submit that all of us who care are currently enduring: Rebuilding Fatigue ~ Year 5. (Credit to BeanoJeffHenderson for coining the term and framing the concept).... We are frustrated and all that, and we're helpless and hopeless, if you buy into that line of thinking. We as fans did not create this abysmal state of affairs that we now find ourselves caught within. But hey, here's a Concept - All of us did stand by -- and then watch it happen. It played out right before our very eyes. We all can continue to (and will for sure) moan and groan and bitch and whine.
Perhaps simultaneously we all might try to figure out a means/method to be more effective proactively from the ground up as common fans Ah hell, wake me up in the morning, I'm dreaming for sure

Look, you guys can say there goes drunk Cowboy all you want. Good coaches figure out a helluva lot more than what we saw out there yesterday. Good coaches don't allow 500 damn yards rushing in their own fing stadium. Good coaches make a team who is facing virtually identical circumstances throw the ball in the double digits. Good coaches don't allow EPIC return days in OUR FUCKING STADIUM. Good coaches are competitive before cheating their ass off recruiting. Buncha damn dumbass sheep. The "Epic return day" kept the rushing yards from being (insert word for > epic) . Always a bright side to look at

And Relic, that is, basically, where I am now. I am wanting to just watch this team, improve, from year to year, and then compete when we have the right mix of talent.
I heard Dooley keep telling us we needed players, and such, and I got tired of it. Talk, talk, talk, talk, talk.
Then we hire Lyle Jones, and we get talk, talk, talk, talk, talk.
I know we are not good, and that I can accept. I am tired of people telling me we are going to be great after he gets this recruiting class in here.
Because I know next year, we are going to have to hear, from everybody, that we are "Young" and when he gets his full allotment of players in here we are going to be good again.
I want results, but I know we are not going to get it now. My basic point is, ANY COACH is good with the right talent in there.
I am not jumping ship as a fan. I just haven't seen many of these players get much better. Many have regressed. I just don't see anything yet, that tells me it is a done deal that he is going to "Get it done".
I hope he proves me wrong.
