A winning record and an NIT bid would be a great year. 12 man rotation minus Mostella getting kicked off and Fulkerson breaking his wrist and dislocating an elbow left a 10 man rotation that is half freshmen. Didn't fold, easily could have.
Signed a good sized post in Zach Kent and got another big guy committed with Derrick Walker. Then Yves Pons or another grad transfer will likely take the last scholarship. Next year they have a real good shot at the NCAAT. Lose Hubbs and Evans, but Kent/Walker should pick up the slack for Evans and Jalen Johnson can generate some offense to offset the Hubbs loss. Plus 4 freshmen guards that are getting significant playing time (well, 3 at least... Parker doesn't get consistent minutes) will be experienced sophomores.

Disappointing to blow a 19-point lead. Terrible free throw shooting and couldn't make shots late in the game.
At some point, Bone has to start making these layups he's missing on these blow-bys. He misses about half of them.

They're recruiting a better PG in the 2018 class. Darius Garland would be a better PG than Turner, Parker, or Bone. If TN uses it's last 2017 scholarship for Yves Pon and not a grad transfer then they'd have to run off somebody to sign Garland. Those three better step it up if Pon doesn't sign.

Agree. Yet once again Hubbs3 doing his career patented disappearing act. Damn, I thought that was a thing of the past. If Hubbs comes to play, make a few free frows, and take care of the ball....that there is an easy road win.

If Hubbs comes to play, make a few free frows, and take care of the ball....that there is an easy road win. Hubbs has an injury issue... elbow maybe.he had an arm wrapped. Miss State's defense was designed to stop Hubbs. He had one guy playing him tight and whenever he touched the ball he was double teamed. TN could have countered by going to Williams, but he was in foul trouble the entire game thanks to the refs calling yet another 50 foul game. With Hubbs the focus of the State defense and Williams on the bench, none of the 4 freshmen guards or Phillips, Evans, Alexander, nor Schofield could step up.

And I'll go ahead and dump on Lamonte Turner.
Take him out and TN is better.
True.... sit that cat another year and then let he play.

Perfect display of bad basketball last night. 18 first half points on 6 of whateveritwas shooting in the first half was the difference in the game. Yep, the officials sucked out loud, but the loss is squarely on the first half effort.
