Here is who I thought of immediately:

UT fans should be thankful for the LSU fiasco in Dooley's first year. Had he won that game he might have been around for another year or two.
Ray Gump, Goof, Goff didn't do much with the resources and crootin' base at UGA

That temporary bumpkin between Bobby Johnson and JimmyFrank at Vandy was a dandy.
Brad Scott at USCjr sucked pretty hard too.
And speaking of temps, John L. Smith at UPig was LOL funny.

Ranking from worst to not so worst from my eyes:
1) Dowhower. Vanderbilt people that I know have fantastical stories about this dumbass. He is the worst head coach of any sport at any level ever.
2) Hallman. This is sort of arbitrary but seeing what LSU is doing now with the dumbest man in the world coaching emphasizes the otherworldly underachieving LSU has done for decades. Whoever coached before and after him until Saban should be on this list as well.
3) Orgeron. I really wanted Dooley to win this but accurate scoring prevents that. Orgeron should have a wing in the HOF just to educate kids on how not to do things.
4) Dooley. The more you hear, the more you should get pissed off. Dude wasn't just a bad coach he was a dick. Few things I hate worse than dudes who think they made it only because of their Daddy. But, accurate scoring shows Dooley was dealt a tough hand and got some eyepopping bad breaks. Relative to resources however its hard to believe he doesn't top this list.
5) Brown. A worse coach than his brother. Which seems impossible. Still, no one is ever going to win at Vandy. And for sure not back then.

Was it Dinardo that would refer to UT as that team to the east? That dude kind of sucked too.

That was DiNardo but he wouldn't make even the worst 20. Decent coach by Vandy standards.

The fat, front-butt guy that was at Notre Dame. The high school coach that was at Notre Dame.

I'll throw in the drive-by stripper hiring coach that never coached a game at Alabama. One of the "Mikes".

Dinardo... 9 losing seasons in 12 years. 3 winning season in 5 years at LSU.

DiNardo was good for VANDY.
BUT, remember our fans even had buttons to wear to the VANDY game .
WOP VANDY
WE blatantly called him a WOP.
Can we call franklin a mud baby or something? WHat is that you call them O.D.?
Sparky Woods, from Oneida, as the head coach at South Carolina.
BUT, he did beat King Johnny.

Sparky Woods is a good one. Went to his football camp when he was at Appy St.
Apropos of nothing it was at that camp when I recognized I was a loser.
