Thank you Cowboy.
As an aside have to go back to Jim McDonald in 1963 to find a more mature coach at the time of hire at UT than Mr. Jones.
I know that there are so many excuses being made for the Tennessee football program of the last decade it is easy to get confused, but don't mistake the youth on the field with youth on the sidelines.

I totally understand why he kicked the FG. He wanted some momentum going into the locker room. Although I do understand why I disagree with him as a Vol fan. A TD would have been huge. BUT what would have happened if we didn't score the TD. DISAPPOINTMENT among the team. That one play didn't cost us the game. The first quarter killed us.
I guess that is why he gets paid the money and I pay the money to watch.

They need to pay someone else to coach, even you Gus, and not pay him to watch.

I'm not using Butch's age as an excuse. I'm just saying there is still time for him to adapt and adjust his philosophies. Look at Saban and Spurrier. Those guys are 20 years older than Butch. That's my point.

So this is year two of a twenty year program where you patiently wait for Butch to age as the losses and humiliation mount & about the time he's Medicare eligible UT will compete for the SEC-E?

Very few coaches wouldn't have done the same tjing and taken a field goal. It was a mistake to dust off the beast on 3 rd down.

No. If he doesn't adapt he will fail. Given his age, he can still adapt in time to save his job. I'm of the belief that he should win at least 8 next year, no excuses. But it isn't up to me. Most likely he is here at least 4 years. So that is how much time he has to adapt. 2016 is the do or die year. For me it would be next year, but I'm not Dave Shart and the boosters.

How is spending $5,000,000/year working out for Texas A&M? 11-2 in year one, 9-4 in year two, 5-3 in year three.

He (& Manziel) put together a program that raised half a billion in booster money. I'd say $5mil is cheap
And Damn Thunder you are crustier than normal this pm. Somebody shoot your dog or something?

11-2 in year one was all due to Sumlin's coaching.

The five years before Butch, TN was around 28-34 with one winning season (7-6). The five years before Sumlin Texas A&M went to four bowl games.

You are babbling Thunder. Do you have a point to any of this? If so what is it? And for the sake of suffering Vol fans everywhere what is the solution?
