I have to say, that one was a shock.

I read the story this morning but didn't connect the dots until Mouthpiece tweets a few of us. Unbelievable.

So is it possible the entire Monk thing was running from trouble?

If he was struggling with p e d o leanings I can see why he thought a monastery might be a safe place to hide from them.
The bipolar defense ain't gonna fly. I know bipolarism is real and devastating. But not taking meds to prevent criminal behavior is not a defense in this case.
My guess is he acted out once and then the shame was so great he couldn't confront it outside of himself. And then it continued.
God bless that poor girl. Can't imagine the damage done to her.

Mauler, it could be. That never made any sense at all then. The running to be a monk.
But I agree NUT. That girl had to be really young when it happened.
Boys, I have thought about it all day, and I am almost certain they took in a little girl around that time. I seem to remember him having a little girl with him some.
I got to thinking about one time he went with me to the Alabama game, and he was all fired up and made some banner that said "8 in a row for the coach".
So that would have been 2002. Because they waxed us and ended Fulmer's streak.
I know the judge in this case, and he used to prosecute these crimes in the DA's office. I doubt he will go easy on him.

Saw this in the KNS and instantly thought of TBA. Shocked to learn about this. Awful, just awful. And yes, Mag I seem to remember him taking in a kid as well. Sickening. Most of you all know I work for DCS and let me tell you all something - abusers come in all shapes and sizes, races, economic, etc. What you think you know about a person is what they allow you to know. Never put someone on a pedestal because you are setting yourself up for a letdown some day.
