I hope Dobbs gets the start at Mizzou. Why not, now?

He didn't look bad. Now that his redshirt is gone he needs to get a big chunk of playing time.
However the Dobb-throes think that never letting Worley back on the field again is the right call. I think that you use both. That way Dobbs can focus on a smaller part of the play book. If he plays like the future NFL Hall of Famer that the Dobb-throes think he is then he'll end up getting all of the snaps anyway.
I see no problem using 2 QBs as was the case with Ainge and Brent S. Even in the same possession I can see it work. Worley is a great team focused guy that is smart enough to see Dobbs should share the time. Dobbs is a teenager that watched Peterman have a complete meltdown when thrown out there.
The Dobb-throe line is "I appreciate Worley, but he isn't capable". Until Dobbs develops his command of the offense to the extent that Worley has, then Worley adds something that gives you a better chance of winning the game.
Dobbs is a better run option, but if he does a lot of that in this league then he will spend a lot of time on the sidelines with injuries. Running is just one of about 10 different options that the QB has.
I might turn off the radio this week. The Dobb-throes will be loud.

If Worley is such a liability then burn Fergie's redshirt as well and make him the backup.

Dobbs is a little ol sumbitch. Not sure but I don't think you saw the second coming of Mariotta or Winston out there.

Yeah Cowboy, I think we are getting too giddy over a guy, coming in at the end of the game.
Yeah, Bama's 3rd team is better than our starters, but still. When you are up that much, neither side is "Working like heck" at the end of that game.
Our guys are just ready to get off the field, and Bama has nothing to play for.
That is why I wonder why it took so dang long to play him. I am afraid the coaches have seen something, that they don't like in the guy. Therefore saying "Ah, who cares about his redshirt now" and getting it over with so he doesn't hang around for 4 MORE years.
AND, they know Worley is not the future, so let's just play all these guys and see who can help us win the BVAA Bank bowl in B'ham.

I dunno. Pretty much nothing you see against Bama can be paid attention too as its not real life. I mean, I dont like Worley at all but he really has been good enough up until yesterday. The problem I have with Dobbs and Ferguson is what you allude to. Very hard for me to understand how neither of them couldnt seize this job considering the competition.
One thing, I am very biased against smallish QB's and Dobbs looked like a middle school kid. Not saying I am right, just my personal preference.
All that said, I agree with, I think JM, that at least Dobbs CAN run it. If you are going to insist on running that bush league offense you might as well not set it up where its a guaranteed handoff on every run play.
Related to that, I noticed the first few plays with Dobbs the read should have been for him to keep it. Seems to me its a read option in name only. Looks like the decision is made on the sidelines before the ball is snapped.

I agree with you on the size sure looked small me me to. How many real book smart QB's are TUFF he might fool me. You would sure think in 4 years a DAMM GOOD QB will come out way that we don't let go like we did Boyd..

Not to belabor the point but the QB debate is elementary at this point. The DLine is why this team is mediocre. Its awful. As bad as anything Dooley ever put out there. Every team we play gets 200 yards on the ground. You cant win that way.

I hope Dobbs gets the start at Mizzou. Why not, now? Rudedobb, do you remember the start of the Florida game? What is your point? That was Peterman and I wasn't at all impressed with him in the spring game. Dobbs started the second half at Bama and was poised. I respect Worley and his team play and leadership but Dobbs is better. For you above that say the coaches might have seen something they don't like about Dobbs, what the hell does that mean? He is a true freshman and maybe they WERE wanting to save him till next year with more play makers on the way but they had to play one of the true freshmen yesterday. I read this morning that Ferguson had some sort of injury issues. There is no hope of optimism in some of you clowns.

I read this morning that Ferguson had some sort of injury issues. There is no hope of optimism in some of you clowns. Point is that a freshman had a week to get ready for the Florida start and choked like no other QB in the history of UT football. That's too much pressure to put on an 18 year old in this conference. Start Worley unless his injury limits him. Bring Dobbs in after a series or two unless Worley is playing great. Starting a true freshman just stirs it uo too much on many fronts. Ease him in. Give him a smaller number of plays. If you start him and yank him out you're damaging him. Start Worley and then rotate them. And if Worley is too injured to go, play Fergusen ASAP too. Use a two QB system for the rest of the year... unless one of those three (or four) runs away with the job (which is not going to happen).
