Vol freshmen and newcomers (bringing talent, speed and desire) will be the difference in a 5-7 record and something better. I don't know just how much better but I believe they will be bowl eligible this year. I was impressed by Hurd's moves on his TD. Those moves are God given. Another year or two of this type of successful recruiting and Butch will have Tennessee closer to where we want them to be.

Yes Gus. My take from last night, as not that we are going to be like Missouri and Auburn last year, but that we are right now much better in game one of 2014 as we were in 2013.
We have talent now, that is the talent of the current coach. Talent to build on. And we already know we have talent coming in next year.
We are now sitting in the same position we were about 30 years ago under Majors. It took a few years, but the program got better, and we had something to look forward to.
However, we may be saying "Wait til next year" for another year or two.

Sheep. Still have to beat Missouri to get to 6 wins. And Ole Miss AND Florida. Tall order but doable, I insist. That assumes S Carolina is still off the table which I believe it is.

I will be fine with 6-6, going to Hoover High School to play that Birmingham Bowl game.
