HW's breakout play/game. Propelled GA to kick the $hit out of TN the next year. If that play failed, TN could have won that close game and had some momentum to elevate the program. Instead went in the tank at GA and USCw. Program didn't recover for several more years. Also have to watch it every time there is a story on TV about Herschel's career. Plus I just hate GA.

It was also the very next game after finally getting back to a bowl game the previous year.

Got this from The Big Lead: Name one play that you would erase from existence. UT or otherwise. I suppose you could do any sport but seems to work best for football. I'm still thinking on mine. Dwight Clark "Catch" Blocked FG by Bama in '90 which led to their own FG win 4th and 20 from midfield and Spurrier goes for it to get a TD first series of he game in '97 Among the candidates. That was 96, and they still raped us w/ out that.

Right JM. No doubt. Nothing like seeing the crawl showing us down 35-0 in the second damn quarter. At home.
I just always thought that play set the tone. Spurrier couldn't have been less worried if he was playing Alcoa High School. Maybe less worried.
The series after that TD, Manning threw a pick 6, I think, on the second play. If you watched carefully, he clearly short armed the throw. Gagged essentially.
I will go to my grave thinking those games just mean to much to him. Tries to hard. Whatever the case, he had to go in there and tie that bitch up. Instead it's 14-zip before half the sheep even got in the place.

That Walker/Bates play I could give two shits about. What difference did it make. Bill makes that tackle, no UGA national title. No 3 straight SEC titles for UGA. Vince Dooley would have been no big deal. Therefore, the name Derrick Dooley is only the name of a failed coach at La. Tech. Make the damn tackle Bill.

Interception by Notre Dame in 1990 that was going to be an Alvin Harper TD to win the game. Lots of pain in that 90 season. Very close to an undefeated year. I could seriously write a Charles Dickens sized book on that Notre Dame game. The build up that week, the talent on the field, the ABOMINATION coaching job Majors did in that game. I'd take Fulmer every fuckjng day of the week over Majors in a big spot.

Bullshit, Mag. They had a transcendent player we had Steve Alatorre at QB. (I guess).

We also had the lead at that time.
Glenn Ford fumbling in that game at the goal line hurt too.
So, I guess not sending a hooker over to the Holiday Inn the night before the game, was he mistake.

Hell of a buzz kill... looked like the game winner and turned into a kick in the nuts. Clint Stoerner fumble, 1990 Bama kick block, and Herschel running over Bates were all pretty much in front of me too. South end, 20 yard line, 28 rows up, west side seats.

Andy Kelly threw like 60 times that game and was having a great one, until that one.

Here's one for ya: 2000, Florida. That play where AJ Suggs hit Lito Sheppard in the flat. We don't turn it over and we likely win that game by just running Henry, playing field position. Defense was getting it done. We win that game, we win the East, are 9-2, and play whatever bad West team it was that year in Atlanta. SEC Champs in what was supposedly a rebuilding year w/ no QB. And maybe having another SEC Title, 2001 wouldn't have stung quite as bad.

On the bright side, the Vols benefited greatly from what has to be one of the Razorbacks' most regrettable plays.

That Joey Matthews vs AJ Suggs QB battle was pretty epic.

Suggs was way more talented than Bray if we are scoring honestly.
