Got this from The Big Lead:
Name one play that you would erase from existence. UT or otherwise. I suppose you could do any sport but seems to work best for football.
I'm still thinking on mine.
Dwight Clark "Catch"
Blocked FG by Bama in '90 which led to their own FG win
4th and 20 from midfield and Spurrier goes for it to get a TD first series of he game in '97
Among the candidates.

The blocked field goal in 90 against Bama, was the first thing that popped into my mind.

Rogers catching that 4th down pass against Vandy in 2011 giving Fooley another year.

Intentional grounding call on Clausen after the failed fake punt call by Saban in '01 SECCG was GIGANTIC. Score a TD there and that game was over.
The entire course of civilization changes.

BTW--that Gafney non catch isn't in the top 1000. Florida scores the next play anyway. Inconsequential.

Hobnail Boot
Mount Cody's blocked kick
Tebow's 1st down run his freshman year in Neyland
missed kick in the 1968 Orange Bowl v Oklahoma... Karl Kremser I believe
Ainge's attempted pass at the end on the 1st half against Notre Dame that resulted in an injury
T Rob getting his knee blown out at Bama in 1985
Chuck Webb v Pacific
1990 Bama block trumps them all

That Tebow run is a good one but far from the most damaging of the game. My memory is late 2nd quarter, we are up 10 and Florida is pinned deep. Marvin Mitchell (I think) intercepted a Leak pass and scored. They threw a flag for a blow to the head and brought it back.
That score stands and it's a blowout. Leak was big time rattled.

missed kick in the 1968 Orange Bowl v Oklahoma... Karl Kremser I believe The Swamprat still swears that kick was good.

I also vote for the 1990 blocked field goal and Mount Cody's block.
Another was the 2001 squib kick against Ga. Is that what Thunder means by hobnail boot?

Great question. You guys have nailed most of mine. Maybe add Manning's interception right in the hands of Tony George in 1997. Rohan Davey getting knocked out of 01 title game when he was playing horrible. Jay Graham's cannon shot fumble to open the 2nd half of 1995 game in Gainesville.
The fumble at the two yard line against Georgia and the USC field goal to win. Both in 1980. Win those games and Johnny probably had us at the top a lot quicker.

Graham's fumble was humongous. Finish off that blowout and maybe the entire series is different.

Interception by Notre Dame in 1990 that was going to be an Alvin Harper TD to win the game. Lots of pain in that 90 season. Very close to an undefeated year.

That Walker/Bates play I could give two shits about. What difference did it make.
