I'm planning a hike to mt Leconte. I've already got a couple (Russell dubya and JM) interested and looking to add more. The biggest plus about this trail is if we leave early enough we will be clearly out of cell service well before even a noon kickoff. I sweated out my last UT fla game two weeks ago. I WILL NOT put myself through that chit again (until UT wins in the series which could be ages).
Looking forward to a peaceful day in the smoky mtns. Will be doing this rain or shine.

I say we just go on one of those trails, those people always get lost on, if we are going that day.

Mag, it's six mikes to the top. So my thoughts are to take plenty of rests along the way, and stay hydrated. Took me about 7 hours to do twenty years ago when I was in some semblance of shape. I plan on about a ten hour round trip process this time.
If our team is playing a night game, I'll rent a damn cabin on top of Le conte and just hike back down that next morning.

If there's no cell service, you won't be able to call 911 when everyone keels over.
