When East TN gets ripped by Campfield's antics, the northern press always fails to mention that he's not from around here but rather from where they are. Of course it is the East TN dolts that keep electing him. And the alternative - Briggs - isn't exactly a conservative republican. If he thought he could get away with it he would be running as a democrat, and it will be the democrat crossover voters who give him the nod over Campfield, anyway. Most of what Campfield says and votes on is pretty much right down the lines of what conservative GOP members want. It's those few stupid out of control things that he says and does that makes him a nut job. I dunno, gramps. Heard or read somewhere recently that what you would get out of Briggs is basically the same straight line voting tendencies without the lunatic fringe behavior and antics. Since I can't cite a source, I guess it's no more or less hearsay...just throwing it out there.

I just can't stand Campfield. Can't stand to look at him or listen to him.

My son will voting for the first time. He said he wishes he could vote against Campfield. It's been interesting discussing the different personalities with him.

He's not a conservative. Moderate maybe, but not conservative.

Yeah, whatever.
Like I said, just stirring the sh** pot of putrid soup that is the foundation of this pos board.
JK, in case you may be challenged somewhere or somehow...

I hear spots from Jason Zachary, who is running in the primary against Jimmy Duncan. All he seems to be able to say is "vote for me because Duncan has been there too long". Never gives a reason why he should be elected.
If that's all Zachary can come up with then he's not a very good candidate.
Duncan will get his usual 80% of the vote in the primary, and 70% in the general election.

I voted against Duncan's azz, but probably won't matter.

Good to see fine, responsible young people like JM participating in the political process. Refreshing.
Maybe Brother 45 can start a thread with election updates as results come in. Keep TLF reader informed.

Just for discussion, Relic - do you not find it odd that Briggs owns a really nice home, yet he "resides" at a small apartment that just happens to be in the district he decides to run in, while his home doesn't? Campfield is a nut job wacko, but Briggs isn't any more credible in my book. If Briggs wants to serve so badly why doesn't he run in the district he actually lives in? That's definitely a race that needs a "none of the above" option.

Isn't the Briggs apartment much closer to the operating room and the practice's office? If Obama can be born in Hawaii then Dr/Colonel B can live in an apartment.

Can someone fill me in on the crazy things Campfield has done?
Duncan votes the way I would the vast majority of the time. Still, if one wants to use our founders & the Constitution as guiding principles, it's tough to see where serving close to 30yrs fits in. IIRC, eight was enough for George Washington.
Duncan currently ranks 27th in seniority in the House, 12th on the GOP side of the aisle. I realize he's made an effort to concentrate on constituent services, but I'd like someone that's been around that long to be more visible on the national scene. There are obviously a ton of issues that need some leadership.

I think anyone been in there for 30 years is part of the problem.

Can someone fill me in on the crazy things Campfield has done? My favorite was playing WWF in Neyland one Halloween night.
