I never vote early. I always like the last second surprise that pops up, like Richard Briggs not living in his apartment.

Anybody but Campfield. And if she was running, anybody but the Lady Mayor.

Campfield had a big assed 3 x 5 or 4 x 8 sign at Broadway and Lulow last week. Sign was knocked down by the next day, gone by the second day, and the poles holding it up gone by the next day. I haven't been by the gravel lot this week, but doubt that it is there.

I am going to early vote tomorrow, but only because I am taking my 82 year old Dad and it's much easier for him to get in to the early voting site than it is for him to get in to Cedar Bluff Elementary School. Normally I am an election day voter, as was intended, and I have no problem showing my picture ID.

If I early vote I won't have to scrub that Farragut High School stank off of me

I have no idea who he's running against, but can we please retire Lamar? I already voted and it wasn't for Lamar. His commercials pretending to be a conservative do get old quickly. BTW, one of the radio guys this morning mentioned that LA first ran for office in '75. Laura Ingraham's backing the Carr guy. I'm not sure he's the best of the challengers, though.

I have no idea who he's running against, but can we please retire Lamar? Joe Carr, a state house member from Murfreesboro and a Tea Party type, is running against Alexander in the primary. In fact, I have a Joe Carr sign in my front yard as we converse. Of course, Carr can't compete with Alexander's deep war chest, but at least I can show my displeasure with Alexander in the primary. John King is the only other candidate in the GOP primary who is actually actively running. He and Carr are similar in their stated philosophies, but Carr is the one I prefer.

Lamar was the worst UT President, even with all those liars, drunks, and big spenders that followed him. He filled up the UT administration with guys getting fake doctorates (EdDs typically) that were getting political paybacks. Was an aweful governor too but the idiots that vote loved him and his folksy charm.

We used to listen to the Radio Reader guy during our lunch hour. He read Lamar's book about his family's trip to Australia. To borrow a Mark Twain line, "It was chloroform in print."
