And most likely a good decision on his part.

He's over rated IMO. I wouldn't be surprised to see somebody else starting at middle linebacker around mid-October.
I'm ready to see Dillon Bates lock down one side.
I'm more enthusiastic about Maggitt getting back on the field than A.J. returning. I bet that Stokes could do as well in the middle.

He still may have some upside, though, particularly if he gets and can take some coaching aimed at improving his technique and skills to overcome his speed limitations. Looking forward to watching D.Bates develop. What's the word on Maggitt these days - will he be able to come back @100%? Stokes is too soft and too slow to play football at any position. Entertaining to think about though, from a what if (?) standpoint.

He did need to come back. He ain't that bad, just not real fast. We will have to wait and see what Maggitt will be able to do.

I'm glad that he's returning... he will contribute. That said, I think that it's comical that he even considererd leaving early for the NFL.
He gets a bunch of tackles, but most of them are 5-10 yards down field. Very few have been for losses or little to no gain.
I'm glad that Butch slayed the Beast. That was a Dooley thing, albeit maybe the only positive thing from the Dooley failed experiment. Best to put the Beast to rest.
