Very sad to read. He was a helluva player in his time at UT. RIP Dyron.

He was a great college player. He was just a tweener for the NBA, and couldn't fit in in that league.
But very athletic 6'7" or so guy in the SEC that could play bigger than that.
One of those guys, like a Sprewell, that could have played in the NBA if given a shot on the right team.

Nobody at UT ever wore the Jeri Curl better than Dyron. I think that Dale Ellis and Dyron were equally skilled at pushing Devoe's buttons.

Died of pneumonia. That seems crazy this day and age. I had a nasty bout 15 years ago that kept me out of work a solid month legitimately. The first week I thought I was going to die and they didnt even hospitalize me.

The first week I thought I was going to die and they didnt even hospitalize me. More times that not death because of pneumonia is a complication of a more serious illness, such as cancer or aids or heart issues. Not saying that is the case here, however. Obviously we don't know anything other than has been out there in the media.

I saw on Basilio that Nix holds the record for most double doubles. That blew me away. I would have guessed a lot of guys before him.
