You have to be kidding, JM?! You are going with the pull up the shorts argument? With this team you defend as if family.

Cameron Tatum, Tyler Smith, the Dancing Bear... Glory days You forgot about the Civil War reenactor. He hit a 3 against Kansas once, you know.

This team aught to play a lot more full court pressure and up tempo. It IS the same stuff we have seen all of Cuonzo's tenure. They don't play very smart at all. Who knows. They might be better next year without McCray and Stokes...at least play more like a team.

I always thought Tyler was a good on-the-court teammate. It sure ended poorly for him here, tho.
It seems like this UT basketball season has already lasted a year or two.

Re: It seems like this UT basketball season has already lasted a year or two.Great point. Feeling the fatigue big time. Plus the anxiety over missed opportunities for road wins that were there for the taking, which paints us into a corner (i.e. Got to kill it in the league with at least 2 quality road wins + all of them at TBA). Correction: I'd say that ain't a corner, it just might be a flat wall. FanFatigue is definitely setting in - maybe due to this season's almost mirror-like resemblance to the previous 2. We've seen this already, and we didn't particularly like the previous 2 editions (though the Sheep of us were bahhing patience, patience.) Hope is regressing. But hey, still early. Maybe this bunch (and that includes coaches - talking about the whole machine) can learn to execute with intensity and focus on the road. Maybe throw a little coaching flexibility/creativity into the mix. But they better be studying hard and working overtime to come together as a unit, because they have a long way to go and not much time to get there. They are home for 4 straight, and now kind of got to have all 4 of those, before going to Baton Rouge 1/04/14. Really need to have it together by then, and that LSU game could be a benchmark.

There's a lot not to get excited about. And there's not much to get excited about. And sheep fatigue is fair.
But this team doesn't have the embarrassing "omg they got a team?" Kinda losses they've had in prior years.
Not gonna do anything in the tourney but there's not reason team can't make the tourney this year. And after not being there for awhile that in and of itself did progress (but probably not worth a banner)

I was looking for a chart of "Mary, Did You Know?" that I did several years ago and found something I posted a while back. I don't even remember which board we were using then, but it's dated December 17, 2009.
All I can say is, four years later we're still talking about Tyler and whining about another annfrustratoying team.

The bottom line is they are very frustrating to watch. They should be a lot better than what they are playing. They will probably be in just about every game they play but will lose some similar to this last one and the other loses. They need to find that intensity they had in the Xavier and Wake Forest wins and keep it for 40 minutes in every game.

They need to carry the fight to the opponent and keep it there for 40 minutes.
