As usual Cowboy putting WAY too much stock in 1 game. Bama beat themselves (with the better team) Bama has lost 3 games in 3 years (all 3 loses within the last min)
To call Gus clearly a superior coach is asinine at best. 1 fluke year of winning doesn't constitute the greatest alltime. (see kevin sumlin) He certainly has been impressive but to call Aub fortunate this year would be the understatement of the century.
A&M is coming? I guess Miss St is coming? ole Miss? vandy? Etc
He isn't and never was going to Texas. Retirement is the only option of Saban leaving (he might sit out a year and go elsewhere but he isn't leaving Bama for another college gig)

Miss St, Ole Miss, and Vandy?
LMAO. Oh yeah, I was sure that was the future of the league.

Makes as much sense as your A&M is my point. A&M went 4-4 in the league and beat absolutely nobody

Sure. But they will. I hear they have players in Texas. And these won't be coached by MackBrown.
You will still win the league some, Brother! No need to get all cray cray. About once every five years will be the new normal though.
I mean, Malzahn just horsewhipped you with a limited roster. Imagine what he will do to you with equal talent once the Auburn Booster Club kicks into gear.
And you don't have to imagine very far because we saw that game with Cam just a few moons ago.

On the bright side, the Cam game has all but been erased from my memory.
Biggest upset of last night was the 3 people I went to the game with (all 3 of us sat by ourselves. I had the awesome privilege of sitting with a barner cousin) none of us got into a fight enroute back to the car.

Cowboy, I don't think there is any reason to believe Saban's run is over. Saban is still the gold standard of the game, but he's never been the greatest in close games. And if this is next year, Bama might still be one of the four teams in the playoffs. He might want to recruit a kicker though.
Bama should have kicked the FG instead of going for it on 4th & 1.

That's actually the thing though isn't it? He is marginalized in tight games. We have all seen it several times. And he is going to see even more of those in the years to come.
I said, Saban-should he choose to stay- will win his share because he will continue to get the best players. But when the sideline is relatively even he is just another coach.
He may even sneak another Natty in there but winning 3 in 4 years or even this historic chance of winning 3 straight that was abysmally squandered is OVER.
All dynasties end. Ask USC, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, the Patriots, the Cowboys, etc...
And GusMalzahn OWNS NickSaban like a damn houseboy.

I honestly cant think of an ending to beat it in all of sports. Id like to see one better. I'd say 1982 Cal/Stanford "Band Game" is better strictly on field but cannot touch al/au for significance. What I think is most amazing is that only 2 weeks prior was the UGA game that until Saturday was an all timer Like hitting powerball 2 weeks in a row
