I was asked to build the trophy room in the new stadium.
I told them it would take $85.00 per square foot.
I figure the entire job will take about $350.00 to build the entire thing.
That will give us some extra space in there.

What is an opulent house? 200 per square foot? 500?

How many Home Depot parking lot Mexicans will be needed? To build the Braves trophy room? Me and one other person could have that built in half an hour.

What is an opulent house? 200 per square foot? 500? Not too many homes would cost over $200 per square foot to build. These realtors like to say something is $200 per square foot on their price, but the sales price includes the lot value as well. That doesn't include the other things like the porches or stuff like that. Usually if a house is worth a lot of money, it is on a piece of land that is worth at least a quarter of the value. Probably more.

If you spend >$200/ft2 on something out in the middle of nowhere you have f u money & aren't concerned with resale

Unless you plan to move in a couple of years, resale value should not be high on your list of reasons to buy a house.
