Seems like a number of UT fans are already hitting the panic button on this season and even on Butch Jones. Seems to me the team is where it was expected to be record-wise. The USA game ended in a sloppy manner. Still, it was expected for this team to be 3-2 heading into the Georgia game. This team is not that talented and that isn't going to change until next season. I think people need to settle down, ride out this season, and see how much the talent picks up for next season.

I expect no more than 4 wins total at this point. Talent is a huge issue, but there are other concerns as well. The guy makes some really odd decisions.

I'm not panicking at all. I knew were were going to suck out loud, and we suck out loud.
That said, if we are going to suck out loud we need to do it with the freshmen QBs. They have a chance to play in a couple of years when we don't suck out loud. Worley will be long gone. Get the freshmen some PT. They really can't be any worse than Worley, and the snaps they take now will pay off in a year, two years down the road.

The record is exactly what I expected at this point, but this team is worse than I expected them to be. I thought six wins was possible before the season, but I just don't see it. Jones made a good point about how much guys are having to play. Ive been pretty critical of AJ Johnson, but the guy almost never gets a break. Coverage isn't his strong suit to begin with, and if he's sucking wind in the fourth quarter, he's just not going to make a play.
In my mind I'm thinking 3-9 right now. At this point their record is almost irrelevant to me. Signing day is the biggest target now.Hanging a banner in January is what I view as the top priority. He's got to hang on to the recruits he's got and get a few more top flight players. We've whined about the roster for a number of years. The guys Dooley was bringing in just aren't capable of playing at the level needed to be competitive.

I agree MRM. Too much early panic.
3 wins??? 4 wins???
Nedland... do you really think Kensucky will beat Tenn? Tenn probably won't be able to beat Georgia and definitely not Bama but they have a chance to win the rest. Auburn and Missouri aren't that great and USC has its problems. I think Tenn will pound Vandy cause it is Vandy, it is at home and they will remember what Vandy did to them last year. I have tried to be positive and am tired of eating crow but I think it won't be all that hard to have six wins.

We're probably better than Kentucky, but if we're sitting at 3-7, all bets are off.

4-8 if we can beat Kentucky. Wow just wow again! Tenn. will probably crush Candy from what they did to us last year. Auburn and Missouri very winnable...South Carolina not that good. I expected more from you JMShipe.

When UT was up 31-7, I don't understand why they didn't give some snaps to one of the freshmen instead of letting Worley throw it all over the place. Those two freshment must really stink.

Let it be known even with the depleted roster that 4 wins is unacceptable.
No excuse for it.

Agreed Mullings.
MRM,
I don't think the freshmen stink at all. He may not want to waste them on this year which ain't gonna be very good. He says they will play when ready. They are true freshmen.

Less than 6 wins means less than Dooley's best. If that doesn't keep butch up at night nothing else could.
