We could have hired Brian Kelly to replace Fulmer. That would have helped two-fold.
We would have been better the past 4 years. And Butch could have yet again rode Kelly's coat-tails.

So, you people are saying that UT had Brian Kelly hired and went with Dooley instead? Hmm. That does ring a bell now. Seems I remember thinking it would have been a bad hire because he would have went to Notre Dame the next year. And that is precisely what would have happened.

I was just talking to the dad, of one of Butch's 2015 commits. He says his son got hand written letter from everybody on the staff the other day.
Then he got about 9 letters from Notre Dame.
I got to thinking about it, and Butch just might be sending Notre Dame recruiting letters out, to cover his bases.

That's what I was saying. I couldn't remember for sure whether Kelly was a candidate after Fulmer or after Kiffin.
Either way, Kelly absolutely would have left for ND. I don't see that as even slightly being on a limb.
