Yeah, ESPN showed AWA stuff, in the late 80s.
They would intermingle the Von Erich stuff, and the Minnesota bunch from the AWA. Zybisco, The Gagne's. and then I think that whole bunch merged and they were on all the time.
Then a lot of those guys went on to WWF.
That was back when ESPN showed the Australian Rules Football and Darts and shit like that.

Actually that would have been more mid 80s. I was still getting those rasslin figures. WWF came out with the first ones of Hogan, Andre, Sheik, Big John Studd, and maybe one more.
Iron Sheik was the hardest to find, and I FINALLY found it at K-Mart next to west Town.
Then the AWA came out with them, and even threw in some NWA guys like Flair. They had the Free Birds and the Long Riders and then those Minnesota and Canadian guys.
They didn't make a ring, so me and one of my buddies made one.

One of them looks like Mimi from the Drew Carey Show. Needs a little more makeup though.

I hated GLOW since the night they got me and my neighbor in trouble. He and I snuck out of his house after his mom and dad had gone to bed, to ride the four wheeler through the woods to see some girls who were having a sleepover.
His dad had gotten up and was watching GLOW and came to try and wake us up to watch it.
We were busted.

Spruce creek high school Daytona beach Florida. CWF came there every other Friday night and my dad and I were always in attendance. There was an old lady that sat ring side and would literally hit the heels with her cane when they were at or near the guard rail. I tapped the missing link on the waist as he was walking down the aisle into the ring. He turned around and chased me back to my seat. Scared shatless

Bundy's gimmick when working for Crockett was demanding a FIVE count when squashing a jobber.
Funny as hell.
