In a bit of a stunner, Steve Phillips is leaving WBIR for TSR. It was not said exactly what Phillips will be doing at TSR. This comes on the heels of Kris Budden leaving. They do have a new girl taking Budden's place. Hopefully, WBIR will get someone who is a hard worker for their sports director. While Phillips seems like a super nice guy, he's not exactly turning over rocks for new and interesting stories.

Doesn't have a good tan or a set of tits, either.
Operation WBIR coal bucket continues!

I wouldn't be surprised to see Russ want move over into that chair.
But I guess the old folks like him in the afternoons, so, I don't know if it will happen.

RB already makes substantially more money that the "Sports Director" position pays. Not really surprised. Lots of stuff going on at WBIR right now. Oh, and leaving Channel 10 for TSR? That tells one that there is something more behind it than his just deciding to leave. That is not even a parallel move, much less a move forward.

Yeah, I know. Actually his work schedule is pretty handy for him, as a dad of three kids.
His oldest and my oldest are classmates, and he coached them last year in football. He is a good guy. I don't really watch him much, in the afternoons, but he is good in the spot he is.
We Vol fans would love to see BOB go back to wBIR and John Ward come back. That is about as likely as RB going to the sports chair.

I pointed out to John Cave Osborne on Twitter that Steve Phillips is actually a Bammer (he hides it on all of his bios except for LinkedIn).
He replied with the classic "if you don't like him don't listen" line. I don't intend to, you sawed off little Vandy grad.

But Phillips isn't the hardest working guy in town as it is. Maybe it's an easier gig for him. If it doesn't involve football, basketball, baseball, golf, or tennis, he isn't interested in it. Maybe Mauler's buddy MyPecker will come back to the heart station.

Fantasy Land, but who knows these days --- OK, for starters, give BOBK whatever the hell he wants to get back to what he never should have been pulled out of doing (broadcast TV) Give MKeith & PRyan whatever the hell They want to come back home and do the football games play by play. Still love BertB for basketball, and maybe BOB & Bert could continue there as before. Done deal, Case closed, the Universe gets that much overdue Tune up and Realignment Job, And we all cruise forward wearing sh@t eating Big Orange grins....

I like Tim Priest's game analysis. As far as his post game locker room interviews... not so much. But that probably isn't his fault. There isn't much that a college football player has to say that interests me in any way. Occasionally a good one comes along... Charles Barley, maybe Shaq... but in general college athletes are boring.

On the game, Priest is to Bob Anderson as Ward is to Kesling.

I was remiss, though, in not finding a place in that fantasy scenario for Tim Priest. Don't want to lose him, but where could he fit?

They're giving a mic to Brent Hubbs now, so maybe they can find something for Priest. MNF had Howard, Don, and Frank. They even added OJ for a while. Maybe put Priest on the sidelines opposite AK. Let AK comment on the O and TP on the D. The broadcast would be a good place to eff with the TN "tradition".

No way that place generates enough $ for everyone there to be making an actual living. It has to be a sideline hobby for most of them, even if the particular host has a % stake in an advertising account.
