They really offer nothing worth paying for. I got on twitter for breaking sports news years ago.

I'm probably not going to sign up. I can get local new from the TV websites. If I want Vol beat news, I'd rather get a month to month deal from volquest. Without looking, I'd say its cheaper. It looks like on twitter they put up a lot more news every day than the Sentinel. I'll miss Mike Strange, but I don't need Adams opinion column. I've got all you yahoos on here for that.

We get the Sunday paper delivered so Mrs. Buckeye can clip coupons. Tried to activate my account online and it "did not recognize my account". I sent them an e-mail telling them to figure it out if they wanted to keep my $2 a week. Got home and have a message from them. Guess they are pretty hard up.

I never, ever thought there would be a day I wouldn't take the paper. That was about 2008 or so. Here in Kingsport, my Grandmother takes it so Im reading it again. There is quite a bit you miss online that you don't think about---mostly baseball stuff like box scores and league leaders. All that is online of course but you have to track it down and I rarely bother.
Also, transactions such as who has been waived or traded isn't as user friendly online. I used to do the Crossword puzzle everyday when I was pretending to work in Pharma.
All things being equal, I'd be happy as a pig in slop with no Internet and a daily paper.

I am partial, but agree. I still enjoy a newspaper for local news.

Oh, I didn't know MLB had a site. Silly me.
Front page--Main stories of the day(which granted you can skip 95% of the time). Vols beat and/or columns.
Open page--every stat you need all on one page.
For me, it's much better.
