Agree with this partly. It's an absolute must win. Loss and he's done.
But lose to every other rival per usual and he's done then too.

Combine the 2014 and 2015 classes and we will be right back in the thick of things. In other words 2015 we go 8-4 and 2016 10 or 11 wins.

That is so true and something I never seem to realize every coaching search. They hired frickin Brother Love to run the basketball program.
I do wonder how long it would take before the fan base totally rebels and truly checks out. We are well into our longest championship drought and you can't see a possibility to even compete for one until minimum 2016 which even that is sheep talk. And we aren't talking middle division Majors mediocrity here either. We have the worst program in the league by far aside from Vandy,UK and maybe Arkansas.
I'm 43. In 20 years at 63 and it's still like this (and chances that it will be are far greater than not) will anybody care anymore? Will they strip Neyland capacity down to about 75,000. Would even that many seats be too many?
I don't get it. If I had a fraction the money the Haslems of the world had Id be over there raising fucking hell until somebody's ass was in there capable of doing the job. I guess most people are OK with losing.
And why wouldn't they. There is always Twitter where "fans" can fool themselves into believing every Manning TD pass counts as a UT win.

One good thing is that everybody's roster will turnover. As long as Butch continues to bring in top 10 classes and not have attrition TN will get back to middle level mediocrity and then upper level mediocrity. I'm really missing the good ole days of upper level mediocrity and the 9-3 records.

The problem with that Thunder, is that Lyle has the ability to promise playing time to these guys. Those big timers want to play, and play in the SEC. We still have enough pop to get a few really good players every year, because we can promise playing time.
After this year, we will have a team with a LOT of freshmen and sophomores.
Thus, making it harder to convince a really good player it is the best place to be for him. These guys want to win too. They ain't coming here to lose, and have a chance of sitting the bench.
Lyle has to win, and win regularly, starting next year, or it will get ugly.

Lots of PT is available for offensive linemen still. I don't get why they aren't lining up too. Must be the system... most of the NFL offenses have no resemblance to what Bajskian is doing.
There might be a big problem that (on offense anyway) the rebuild is backwards. Wideouts are in place, but lines and QBs take a few years to develop. Line recruits can't expect the current skill players to still be here by the time that they have developed. But the legacy recruiting probably dictated a backwards rebuild. They've been recruiting names instead of needs.

When does having a great fan base go from asset to liability... In the middle of worst period in Tennessee history, the fans are checkering the place... Kudos to them, but what is the imputus for Tennessee to make any kind of change? Water sales are great!

It hurts TV ratings if everybody is at the stadium instead of watching in their basements.

Dumb, it' wont be the end of the world if thats a loss. Plenty of more important games to determine that Who will they beat next year that matters if they can't win the first big home game in year 3? They will have an excellent opportunity to win that game. Will be a buildup for it all offseason by the sheep. If he can't get that one, just GTFO. Oh, but I forgot, we are winning in Gainesville and Tuscaloosa so it will be okay.
