DeMarre Carroll should be considered for Mizzou, I think. Kareem Rush too.
Earnest Shelton for Bama was SEC POY around 02-03 I think. He was a stud.

That was a brain cramp. Freije I just forgot to write down. I had it between he and Turner for that last spot.

After a lil thought heres my 5 for Bammer G- Ennis Whatley G- Hollywood Robinson (mainly just to appease TNCOW) F- Reggie King F- Antonio McDyess C- Leon Douglass 1st of the bench G- TR Dunn G- Ron Steele F-Buck Johnson F-Derrik McKey C-Erwin Dudley (really would play forwards here in place of Dudley) Hard to leave off Names like Spree,Horry, Bobby Lee Hurt, Eddie Phillips, Mo Williams, Keith Askins, David Benoit This is an opinion exercise but I cant see how you leave off Spreewell. He has more NBA points than anyone else I think. Whatley makes sense if you really want a point guard but if so Spree has to go before Robinson. Ned is right. Very talented bunch. As good as any other school for sure lacking only an elite superstar.

Was the best player on their team that made the Elite 8. I'd say you're a little off.

If we are talking NBA careers, I need to change my list. Spree only played 2 years at Bammer (only 1 worthwhile)

Toss up next between Shelton and Chuck Davis The year before was the elite 8 also

Some start considering raw ability, some look at NBA success, and some look at just college achievements. The discussion from the other thread was take 5 guys who make you most likely to win. Spreewell is in that group.

Don't dispute that. Spree was a late bloomer

All time SEC team is C Jackson at the point and Bernard at the three. Other than those two locks, either Shaquille or Bowie at center.
Then the last two... Kind of depends if the center is Bowie then probably Charles Barley. If the center is Shaquille then the other forward is wide open. Dominique maybe. Kenny Sky Walker maybe.
I think thar the shooting guard is a toss up. If only looking at offense then probably Houston or Maravich. Requiring that position to also be a great defender throws it wide open. Jeff Malone is another shooter to consider. Not Dale Eli's since he wasn't playing that position in college. If he did I'd maybe give it to him based on defense too.
That forward paired with Shaquille throws me. Dominique? Maybe make Bernard the 4.
I'll go: Chris Jackson A Houston B King Sky Walker Shaquille But Houston worries me on defense. Maybe Jeff Malone, but I honestly don't know if he played defense either.

Robinson missed two early shots and John Ward says, "Robinson jumper from the wing. No good. Has not heated up quite yet. (Long pause). HE WILL." For whatever reason that stuck out to me as a player who must be a stud.

Like Jackson to me doesnt fit. I know he played Point but Lord a mercy he was a shooting guard if there ever was one.
