It was nice when we beat them like that every year Gramps.
Did T-Tux bring Shania Twain by there, or was it Tanya Tucker?

About 15 years ago John Ward donated $1,000,000 to UT. He was honored on the field before the game or at halftime. When he waved at the west side crowd his pants slipped off of his scrawny ass. He caught then around his knees and quickly yanked them back up. I never saw a pic or any mention of it. The whole thing took about a second. It it happened today there would be 5,000 camera phones catching the incident.

UT/UF 1990. My friend Jimmy and I were trying to find affordable tickets on the street. Minimum price we could find was $75per which was about triple face value, and neither one of us could afford it. We lucked up walking through Lot 9 when two guys sold us theirs for $25 each. After making the purchase, and looking closer at the tickets, we realized they were student tickets. We looked up and those guys had disappeared into the crowd. We werent students and knew we wouldnt be able to get in, but we went to the student gate and, even though the gates werent open for the game yet, there were a couple of ushers there. We told them what happened and they were sympathetic but not enough to tell us we could get in. They said, "Ha. The athletic dept sends people down here with stories like that to see if we will let them in. We'll lose our job if we let you in". So walking back around the north end of the stadium, trying to figure out what to do, Jimmy noticed behind the ESPN trailer there was a gate open in the chain link fence where they were carrying equipment in. Figuring, what have we got to lose, we went in the gate and followed the asphalt road under the stadium that was going down to field level in the NW corner. As we were walking down the toward the field we noticed a uniformed policeman. He turned and saw us and started toward us. Just about that time some managers walked by near the policeman. Jimmy used to be a basketball manager and knew them so he yelled at them and they came over to talk, which made the policeman turn away. We told them what happened and asked them to walk us into the stadium, which they did. It was a couple of hours until the gates opened so we walked around acting like we knew what we were doing. There was lots of concessions activity going on, etc. We sat in the student section, watched a close first half and then went nuts when Dale Carter returned the second half kickoff for a TD. The rest is history. One of the most fun games I have seen in Neyland Stadium.

In a similar story at the Bammer/LSu NC game a cpl yrs ago.
CW and myself both snuck into the dome without getting our tickets scanned (thus can still be used) as a bit of a back story we had 4 other friends in our group. 2 had paid 1k per for tix that turned out fake (they both were allowed in after interogation but had no seats)) 2 others had bought real tix for 1250 per. Needless to say they weren't very pleased to see us slide by the ticket scan lady.
So having 2 tix unused for such a premium wasn't an option. I walk back outside, which is extremely hard to do with 99.99999999999% of the people trying to enter. After reassuring a security guard I was in fact aware I couldn't reenter was escorted outside. I promptly held up a ticket for sell (keep in mind I have 2 so I can still reenter) and was swarmed with people frantically trying to buy. So I tell the buyers here is he deal. I'm on,y getting you inside the doors as I will be occupying the seat. As people are considering the deal a bidding war breaks out. I'll give u 500-6-7 finally a gal wearing a bammer jersey says I've got friends inside to sit with! Ill give you 800 but you have to walk with me inside to verify its real. A scalper walks up and tries to call BS on my tix being real. So I pull the gal to the side and tell her to show me the $800 and I'll get you thru the door and you can pay AFTER you enter! (just to prove o her it's real) so off we go and the security is a major CF getting inside and they herd you like cattle to be searched (still outside the dome) as I had walked in previously I didn't noticed that they spilt males/females in separate lines. Somehow the women's line moves WAY faster than mine. So she enters the gates and I'm cussing that damn scalper in my mind as this Ho is just gonna bolt when she gets in. (I would have) the gal stands and waits on me to pay!!! I took her $800 and then gave her back $200 for waiting. She also wanted to keep the ticket as a keepsake which I gladly handed over. Twas a Good night!

So I'm living in Birmingham for three years; three years in which I wore something orange every single solitary day. I want to go to the game in Tusky in '03 & a bammer friend says he has a friend who wants to sell his. $ is exchanged and I get my tickets in an envelope. I don't even open it for fear of losing them. I inform my soon to be wife to not bother trekking down there as this will be a trip to be made w/ one of my best good friends. We go in as soon as the gates open and we are some of the 1st ones in the door. As we start to head to our seats, I look at the ticket and notice our seats say Row 1, section whatever. Hey, this could be pretty interesting. We get to our seats and they are on the 50 yd line right behind the Bama bench. They even had bama shakers in the seats waiting for us. After sitting there for about 15 minutes, these two bammers walk up to us and say, "hey, my wife works for UT and we have her tickets but would like to sit with our own kind and saw you across the stadium and thought you might want to as well. We ended up sitting in the 17th row in the corner in the UT AD's section. To our right was the Munoz family. The Clausens were behind us, and Dr. Johnson was in front and to the left. Needless to say, the celebration up there after 4 or 5 overtimes was a helluva lot sweeter up there than it would've been where we were.
Oh, and Daddy Clausen pulled a "hey, I'm the QB's dad and I need you to throw this guy out" on a drunk guy who criricized his boy. D*ck.
