Mean Green Hoof Trowel Man Throw the Fade Any others I'm forgetting? Praise God, I am still here. Whether y'all like it or not. BUT, a little girl at the school passed away Wednesday. She had the same ailment I did. SO, between the little girl's death, and Jason Davis's, a guy who is my age, death, God has shown me to quit griping about my little problems. The Mean Green death hit me hard that night. Because I had just done some appraisal work for the place he worked for, so I had seen him recently. The guy was always a nice guy, smiling big. Then when I heard that he had taken his life, I was really bummed. I woke up the next morning to a toilet that leaked, and was stopped up and overflowed flooding my house, and causing tons of damage to both levels. Trowel called me kind of often, and would always talk like we were the best friends, and just shoot the bull about nothing. Then HOOF. I had posted with him on here for a few years, then got to know the guy, and he was a really good fella. I hope I don't sound like I am talking about me. Because I do not want to talk about me at all. It is just that I get to know the people of these boards and they do seem like friends. You can really tell who the good ones are. It seems like we have lost a good one, before we really got to know him well. God bless his family. Did he have any kids?

Jason was without a doubt the beat person I have ever know. Great guy with a huge heart. Great family background, I have always considered his mom and dad and sisters my family. I'll try to answer questions...
It was colon cancer that got him. Don't remember who asked but he did work at Ted Russell Ford so it probably was him you bought the car from. Mag..one son he adopted about 13 years ago.
I did get to see him yesterday for a couple of hours. He wasn't in any pain. Morphine had him sedated..he didn't know I was there. Tough seeing him like that, he was a great athlete and always in good shape. I really hate this, not for him though, he was ready to go, said that himself...I hate it for his parents and sisters. Just sucks.

Well, you can tell how a person really was, in the good things people say about them, when they pass.
My goodness. Adopted a son, 13 years ago. My son turns 13 tomorrow.
The man seems like he was a very mature person, who got it right, while he was on this earth.
Goodness Pump, I truly hate this for you and Chunk, because I know you guys have lost something special.

That is such a sad story. I had no idea the guy was sick. Echoing what you said, its always comforting to hear that someone was secure in their faith when they pass away. Still, his family lost him way, way too early and that is just so sad. The anonymity on these boards is weird. I would have never known until that facebook link was posted that I had interacted with him in the real world. I drive a Lincoln and I'm pretty sure that Jason Davis was the name of the guy that located the car I bought. Jason worked for Ted Russell dealerships for over a decade. If you bought your car from one Ted's dealerships, then you are probably correct.

Had a similar ending to our conversation the last time I got to see him, as well. Just a good guy - period. If one couldn't see the good in Jason, then they are hopeless.

Mean Green was one of the first ones I met through Swamp rat and message boards. It was at Bayou Bay and he brought his son with him at asked if they could sit with me. We became good friends. I would meet him for lunch ever now and then. Swamp Rat called me the night he passed. It was after a basketball game. It really hit me hard too.
Like Mag, the same with Trowel. He called one night and after talking to me asked to talk to Mrs. Rude. He talked a long time inviting us to a barbecue.
Hoofy - I went to West Town to the vitamin store where he worked to meet him He was there and we had a good talk about sports, the board, etc. He said "You are my kinda guy" or something like that. Another good one.
Like I said, I wish I had seen Fade more. From what you guys say, a wonderful fella.

Last time I was able to have a conversation with Fade he told me that Jacob (the son) was scheduled to leave for basic training on September 1.
