Yeah... but the most fun I've had watching Vols football the last several years was 2004. Fulmer also went for it a lot that year on 4th down.

No legitimate RB either. Who would the QB throw to? Skill position is ABYSMAL.

No legitimate RB either. Who would the QB throw to? Skill position is ABYSMAL. Got a highy rated freshman receiver (North) available that wasn't at the spring games. Aslo some good ones that were redshirted that didn't paly in the spring game. As far as running back, Neil and the other guy aren't that bad...not great but pretty dang good. If the line opens holes and those guys get in the open field, they can do some damage. I agree with Nut. Bring on Dobbs. He will probably be starting by the middle of the season. Git yer negative arse outta here, Cowboy. You just haf to rain on everbodies parade!

Neal led the SEC in rushing for about half the year last year. Don't know where he finished, but Neal/Lane combo is not too bad w/ our O-Line.

I agree.... UT will have some talent at WR just not experience or depth. That's why they are signing 30 WRs...

See, this is why I led the campaign against recruiting posters with that smack talk from Rude.
We could try a serious discussion here. Lets say from 1977 on (which is about where my memory starts) has there been a worse set of skill position players? Forget young guys who "might" be good.
I don't have access to a media guide right now but I say this is the worst. With probably the best OL in front of them.
Figures.

I took a nap earlier and now I feel 1000x better.
I'm with Cowboy on this issue. I don't want to know what MIGHT be this or that, in regard to QB and RB.
As I've heard my entire life "MIGHT's ASS"

Alden Hill had a great spring. He was only a 3-star coming out but might be one of those right place/right time guys who could break out under the right coach, behind the right line, etc. But Cowboy makes a good point. I doubt any SEC school would swap RBs, WRs, and QBs with UT right now.

I liked the days when Johnny Majors was coaching and you could count on us having a good running back and line. It didn't matter who the QB was.
I liked when Charlie Garner came in, with both Little Man and Hayden coming back after starting the year before.
Garner came in and told them he was going to' be starting.
Now we've got a bunch of third teamers that "MIGHT be alright if the line blocks well"

The last high quality RB was Hardesty. That was a long time ago in a football season far, far away.

Agree on Hardesty and that Tri-head of Garner, Stewart, and Hayden will never be topped. Fulmer got close with Lewis, Henry, and Stephens but it wasn't the same. All those guys played there own year unlike the guys at the top. Hell, it seemed every run was 20 yards with those guys. I don't know how we ever lost.
Fulmer was always trying to reproduce that vibe. That group of Ced Houston and I seriously don't remember a single one of the others was THE miss. Those guys were average and it was Fulmers Waterloo.
Back on point, I ain't seen a post yet even approaching the suckitude of these guys. Chit, even Jeff Francis had guys like Anthony Miller out there.

Jabari Davis. What a fat piece of goo. I remember when he signed Bill King made it out like he was Herschel Walker.
And then KEPT pumping that sunshine all that freshman year even after it was clear to an Oakland rioter he wasn't worth a damn.
