Its obviously the go to place for breaking news and commentary and is great for that but I get the feeling the user to user aspect seems to be losing steam.
Thoughts?
Its probably just me.

I think everyone is finally getting plate of food and beach picture fatigue.
People are boring as shit.

If you're there for sports it's going to suck long and hard until August. Unless you're a baseball nerd. Baseball died when the Red Sox won the series.

The recruiting sniffers are an abysmal lot.

I, for one, have not at all grown weary of the bikini pics.

Most women have trouble limiting themselves to 140 characters so that is one thing that will help it prosper longer than Facebook.

I have a devil of a time with the character thing. Pretty much I hate it and why I prefer message boards or even Facebook.
I will say that 95% of my Tweets no one seems to see versus Facebook where no one misses a base. That is an advantage for me.

140 characters is what's great about it. Forced people to be concise.
I like how a year or so ago people tried using these add ons like twitlonger to write longer tweets. Those have all but gone away. Nobody clicked em

That's the biggest issue with twitter. There's zero retention. Everything works in a 30 second window.

Like I say I like the real time commentary better than anything on there. I should note that I like the real time commentary from fans and not the news writer telling me the score.

I go thru and reload my page to see about every Tweet even when offline hours at a time. It will take me 30 minutes to read it all.
When (if) I start working again I obviously won't be doing that. The lack if retention is a huge turnoff for me. Give me categorical topics ala a board so that an actual discussion can take place.
