Unless he's very productive, he might retire in January. I could see him join Butch. He has more money than Forest Gump and might be bored in a broadcast booth. I previously thought that it was far fetched, but with Butch struggling I could see fixing UT's offense as a challenge he might be interested in.

I like that way of thinking, he just might like the challenge I just don't see him in the booth.

If Butch can't get it to 8 or 9 wins per year, he won't keep his job. Another coaching change could kill the program. Peyton certainly doesn't need the money, but he loves UT and I could see him taking some type of role to try to breath some life into UT football before it dies. If Butch has a functioning brain and can check his ego, he would see that his in-game decision making is countering his great recruiting and team chemistry building. Peyton may not turn out to be a great teacher, but I'd bet he'd be outstanding wearing a headset during games... Butch ought to disconnect his. And Butch needs to see that if he is determined to not change up his gimmicky BS offense he won't be here for many more years. You can't win with that mid-major scheme in the SEC. Maybe the ACC or the PAC-whatever, but that shit won't work consistently here.
BTW, I fully expect to hear an insincere "I'm taking the blame for the Florida loss" at Butch's noon Monday presser. I'm sure that he's been told by the PR people that the natives are very angry. But he'll f##k it up by following up with comments that he thinks will deflect the blame away from him. I'm really starting to question his IQ. He might be the dumbest coach at UT since Dickey took over before CBJ was born. Actually I'm convinced that he is.

Lord have mercy at this thread. I saw a guy post on another board that Peyton has agreed to be the OC in either 2016 or 2017 and that is why DeBord is here... he agreed to be a placeholder until Peyton retires and then he'll switch to the OL coach. I'm only about 10% baked... he's about half.

Lord have mercy at this thread. That's all you got? I figured that you'd be thrilled with all of the shots at Butch that I worked in.

Butch can choke away a game against Florida just fine without Peyton.
