If this fellow was not charged anything, how come he is still suspended from the team?

Sounds like it might be PC politics.

Or maybe he flashed his log chain at the girl and there is no evidence to prove it... but he's maybe told Butch what happened. Vol Colonel on Basilio's web site today said that he doubts that he'll ever play another down for TN.

But Hubbs is saying this: As we noted yesterday, the timeline we were told was that Pearson's camp felt he could be reinstated in 24-48 hours. John and I have been working the story today and have been told that Pearson has been involved in conversations with University officials. We continue to hear the timeline remains and that things are moving in a positive direction for Von. It will not be a surprise if Pearson is back on the the practice field rejoining his teammates by weeks end.

This whole thing with Von Pearson stinks. If he did something wrong, he should be punished. But it took them forever to finally say they won't press charges.
Shortly before the alleged incident happens, UT changes their conduct policy. That's why Pearson couldn't go to school. But then it comes out that Williams, who is actually charged for rape, continued to remain in school and was allowed to enroll in summer school. How do you let someone charged with rape to continue to be in school, but not let someone who hasn't been charged suspended from school? People over there need to answer some questions.

Pearson is currently ineligible to play because of the university officials.
