TGO was at the 1997 Masters offering up golf claps for Tiger. Was at the 18th tee on Sunday. Stood between Tiger and photographers during the stare down when shutter noise "caused" Tiger's hook. Saw Tiger's reaction after saving par too, but couldn't see the green as putt went in. Tiger and TGO go way back.

"He knows. He does not intimidate me."
The psychosis required for that comment sans alcohol is remarkable.

I was actually two deep at the back left corner of the tee box. Furious Tiger was to my left. Frightened photographer cowering in the camera tower was to my right. When Tiger finally finished glaring at photog and started walking to his ball, we took off running down the cart path towards the green. Looked to the right and there walks Tiger about 50 feet away. Running is not allowed at Augusta, but hey, we were from Tennessee and it was chaotic. Got near the green and Tiger hits his second directly overhead (well not directly, they parted the gallery between his ball and the green). Couldn't see where it landed, but the gallery approved. Climbed up a hill left of the green but was about four rows from the crest. Saw Tiger from the waist up as he putted. Had a good perspective of his upper cut fist pump that he threw as he broke the record by a stroke. Ran in direction of car parked directly across Washington. In the gravel lot that was replaced by the practice tee, a security guard yells to stop running. Didn't slow down. In hindsight, embarrassed for being such a redneck rube on hallowed ground.

Thats your best post ever. Low bar but still.

Tigger supposedly played 18 at Augusta yesterday. How can he expect to make the cut if he hasn't lifted a club in 5 weeks ?
