Worthy of a separate thread noting his genius. Yep. There hasn't been another Ron Wright since, and there won't be another one again.

Calvin Peete (71). Professional golfing brutha. Cal was a good guy. Met him when I was working as a volunteer at the Greater Greensboro Open back in the late 80s. Class act, heck of a golfer, and he did it with an arm he couldn't straighten out because of an accident when he was younger. Won what is now the Player's Championship in 1985.

Bob Burns (64) Drummer for the real Lynyrd Skynyrd I'd challenge your terminology. Howsabout original instead of real?

Bob Burns (64) Drummer for the real Lynyrd Skynyrd I'd challenge your terminology. Howsabout original instead of real? Real and original. He was first. BB and Artimus are the drummers on the real Skynyrd's recordings. Burns didn't drum for the Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute band that's been ripping off RVZ's band's legacy for about 30 years. Best stuff is from the first two studio albums which were before Artimus. The tribute band is okay. It's just not Lynyrd Skynyrd. LS ceased to exist in October 1977.

Let's mire in the minutiae for a bit - Skynyrd released 2 albums after Bob Burns and post plane crash in 77. Nuthin' Fancy (1975) is probably my favorite Lynyrd Skynyrd album, which I think marked the debut of Artimus Pyle and the beginning of Ed King's hiatus. Agree with you on the tribute band.
