Hope not but happy to hear about Metro Pulse. Bunch of liberals.

MP was more about music and art rather than politics. I'm going to miss it... especially Jack Neely. I'm really going to miss the $5 off any large pizza at Stefano's coupon.
They also had pretty good coverage of real estate redevelopment around Knoxville and neighborhoods too.
Even with a lefty slant, it's never good to silence opposing views.
I suppose EW Scripps is trying to squeeze out every possible nickel they can before print in Knoxville goes over to the Journal media group out of Wisconsin in the merger/spin off.
They are also being deceptive about combining MetroPulse with knoxville.com. They put very little effort into knoxville.com.

True Thunder. They had gotten MUCH better over the last couple of years. Really, they have. I liked their stories as much as the KNS the last couple of years.
They had some informative articles on the City of Knoxville.
Like most things in my life that I do not like at first, then start to like them about the time they go away.

Agree with both of you, Thunder and Magnum. I am a music nut, and I enjoyed reading their stuff on local up and comers there. They got me hooked on the Dirty Guvs.
Kind of hard to say it was a merger when every one of the Metro Pulse staff were included in the 23 overall lay offs.
Don't see how The Shopper can continue as is. At least the Metro Pulse got to some advertisers that the New-Sentinel couldn't. Don't see that being the case with The Shopper.

Yall won't stop me from casket chitting these liberals. Have at it. Not going to try to change your mind. Most of the MP writers were just that, but I pretty much just glossed over or completely ignored anything that I wasn't interested in reading. Kind of like I do with the KNS, The Shopper, when I listen to radio, watch TV, etc.

Secret History was in a class of it's own. Don't get much more liberal than Jack's wife, but he stays out of the Left v Right fights.

I think it is also interesting I got a thing in the mail from the KNS today, like most of Knoxville did I suppose.
It was advertising a rate of $1.59 a week. I thought "Well that is not a bad rate, I might start taking the paper again.
Then I noticed the card was for online version only.
I think the generation coming up, may not have the option of getting a PAPER, 30 years from now.

30? In many cities make that 3. Maybe less Well, there are old codgers like me who like the paper better than the electronic tablet. Mostly because I am afraid of dropping the electronic tablet in the shitter.
