Strange calls seem to be the norm.
What was that 15 yard call after the sack on the last play of the first half?
TN fumbles and they say forward progress had been stopped.
15 yard penalty on Gurley for celebrating after his last touchdown run. TN ends up with the ball around the fifty after the kick off. Pretty much ended up nullifying GA's score.
GA fair catches a punt them takes off and there is no penalty because "he was running forward to catch the ball"? He caught the ball standing on one spot and then tucks the ball and takes off.
Flags for holding only show up during critical plays.

Peterman intentional grounding call with eligible receiver right where ball was thrown.

Another great call by the SEC refs... stop the game for five minutes to review if Peterman fumbled or if the loose ball was an incomplete pass on 3rd down. Difference between the two results was four yards and maybe 30 seconds on the game clock. TN was going to punt on the next play in either scenario. But they don't look at the GA fumble that TN had recovered but lost in the pile, or Gurley's game winning run on fourth down and three or the punt downed 6 inches from the goal or the no call on GA's fair catch. That four yards had very little significance... yet gets a five minute review.

Spot on, Man.
It can be excruciating to experience an SEC crew in action, and today's TN/GA was no exception.

Not as weird this week, but still needs improvement. However the best SEC refs should have been in Mississippi this week.
I'm okay with the no call on the play clock hitting zero on Florida's FG. Isn't it really 0.999 and not 0.00 when the clock goes from 1 to 0?
Horrible call on the targeting penalty against TN on hitting the FL QB. Replay actually corrected that one though.
TN lost a fumble but the officials called the play dead again. I would have been pissed if I was a Florida fan.
Worst calls were pass interference no calls and the one called against TN early. There was also an obvious open field holding that was missed and benefited FL. Was right in front of Butch.
Officiating crew was oblivious to the 10 second run off rule at the end of the first half when there was a penalty against the FL offense. Butch set them straight on that one.

I agree with your analysis of this game's refs. The biggest miss I saw was in oxford where a Bammer raped a face mask forced a fumble & returned for 6. Talk about a huge miss. Go from 1&10 15 yard penalty to giving seven points

With the dozens of law enforcement personnel and vehicles plus three chartered buses hired to drive the team 3-4 blocks, TN spends far more on the 15 minute Vol Walk than the SEC spends on officiating for an entire game.
With the kind of money that the NCAA and SEC is generating, it's way past time that the officials aren't selling insurance during the week and then have part time jobs calling football games about 15 weekends per year.

When assistant coaches are making seven figure salaries, it's beyond ridiculous that the officials are each making about $30,000 per year (minus travel expenses).

www.rockytopinsider.com/2014/10/26/mike-pereira-rips-sec-officials/Lane cheated Butch Jones was upset with the officials after Alabama’s Amari Cooper went 80 yards on the first play last night. “Actually, they ran a late substitution in,” Jones said when asked about it after the game. “This is a matching personnel game, and we felt play should have been held up a little bit. But, it didn’t work in that. So what happened was the nickel, based on where they aligned, was on the other side of the field.”

Bammer had a starting WR get tweaked in warmups. Only had 10 men out there and had to run in the new WR.

Refs held up TN from running their play a couple of times when they made no substitutions yet didn't stand over the ball on three occassions after Alabama made substitutions. Strange. I'm sure that Rocky Goode will be asked about it around 6 on Hyams and Wilkerson.

I recorded the UT-Bama replay after I read this link: www.foxsports.com/college-football/story/alabama-tennessee-sec-officiating-replay-review-102514I'm going to look at the play in question here as well as the first play of the game for Alabama. If what is being alleged in this article is true, the SEC has some serious explaining to do. Only officials on the field need to be making calls unless it's a review. College and the NFL need to do away with these headsets they wear during games. Leaves it open to suspicion.
