LSU G Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf (FKA, Magnum) G Pete Maravich F Bob Petit F Stanley Roberts C Shaquille O'Neal Just missed: Rudy Macklin Howard Carter Glen Davis John Williams Brandon Bass This is the best team for my money. Dont see how UT could handle them inside. Especially true if you switch either Macklin, Williams, or Davis for Petit. How hilarious is it that Dale Brown couldnt take 3 of those 5 to a Final Four but did with Ricky Blanton. Yeah, I would probably put Rudy Macklin in ahead of Roberts. Wade's son and that team played one of, if not the, best games in TBA history against that team of CJ, Roberts and Shaq. That LSU team played THE best game I have ever seen in person, in TBA later that year against the GA Tech and Lethal Weapon 3 team that went to the Final Four. That was a second round game. You can watch the whole thing on You Tube. TEDDY Valentine reffed that game. I think we've talked about this before but I was there too. I always say if you watched the game without a scoreboard you would have thought LSU was up by 20. It seemed Roberts or O'Neal dunked everytime down the court. But Dennis Scott shot out of his mind to keep Tech in it. Best game I've ever seen in person by a light year.

That 1990 LSU team had some GREAT games that year. They played the UNLV team that won it all as well as that Loyola Marymount game where LSU won 148-141..
That game in Knoxville where CJ hit 10 3s was unreal.
Here is the roster for that team.
Shaquille O'Neal Chris Jackson Vernel Singleton Maurice Williamson Harold Boudreaux Randy Devall Richard Krajewski Stanley Roberts Wayne Sims Dennis Tracey
I had to look it up, but knew many of them.

[/quote] Yeah. before the 1st round game, LSU played Villanova, the first game of the night session. I was hanging around down by the locker rooms wanting to talk to Chris Jackson. I stood there with Bobby Cremins, and watched some of it, and talked to him before GA Tech played ETSU. Then Bud Ford ran me off. But the #1 seed in that bracket was Michigan State and they had Steve Smith. Popeye Jones and Murray State gave them everything they wanted in the first round game. Dang, I loved that NCAA tourney stuff that would roll through here back then. We sucked but still got to see some great games.

Texas A&M
I looked this up and only vaguely recognize about three names:
Deandre Jordan Acie Law Antoine Wright
You could maybe put Jordan and Kareem on this team and UT beats them.

Alabama G James Robinson G Latrell Spreewell F Reggie King F Robert Horry C Derrick McKey Other candidates: Buck Johnson Bobby Lee Hurt TR Dunn Moe Williams Gerald Wallace Antonio McDyess Keith Askins A lot of great players but I think UT is a little better. Would be interested in KozSheep's opinion. Leon Douglas might be in the first five. Ennis Watley too. Who the hell would name their child Ennis?

Missed that one. Robinson to me was as electric as anyone not in the very elite. Unless Koz says different he stays in my first five. For the purpose of a real team, Whatley does make more sense as a true point guard. Lord help a backcourt of Robinson and Spreewell.

That Alabama list is unbelievable. It's mind-boggling how they've not gone further than they have.

A lot of great players but I think UT is a little better. Would be interested in KozSheep's opinion. Leon Douglas, Eddie Phillips and healthy Ronald Steele would need to be in the disscussion.

Jerry Harper is another if you wanna go real old school. Horry gets too much credit for his NBA "big shot" . I'd leave him deep on the bench
