Sucks implies they are not worthy of Vanderbilt. They certainly don't suck. They are a FUN! Team to watch. They have pretty, shiny places to train. (As an aside, that Oregon facility is getting MURDERED by the armpit women faculty of Oregon. Justifiably IMO.)
Anyway, you need a defensive line that wants to fucking kill people. Probably helps if at least one of those four are felons.
The Oregon stuff is just too funny to me. Retard David Pollack is saying the Stanford win AT HOME is bigger than Florida State beating Clemson by a zillion.

Funny reading through the Oregon Football on Facebook posts. Apparently the officials screwed them and if Florida State or Alabama loses they deserve to be in the championship game. Bama people are on it effing with them.
They are clueless out left.

They are one of those teams, that are really hard to beat, in a one game situation. Kind of like Nebraska used to be.
They will beat, pretty much, any team in the country in a one game situation. This is because of their offense is just really hard to prepare for.
However, teams in the conference eventually find a way to beat them, because they see them every year and see the teams they play, week in and week out, playing them. You can eventually prepare for most everything they have, and come up with ways to stop it.
Alabama, doesn't do anything that is a gimmick. They do, what is the secret of life. They do the basic things as well, or better, than anybody else, and they do it more efficiently.
It is why a Boise State isn't as good as they used to be. People have figured them out, and Boise can't surprise anybody anymore.
Oregon is a fad.
The best teams, and coaches, are the ones who do a few basic things, and do them better than you do, and kick your tail doing it.

Oregon is different in that they have a boat load of Nike money and prestige. Oklahoma State also has a boat load of Boone's oil money, but Oregon has an edge in that Nike is also what they all want to wear - and Oregon will always have the latest and greatest. Adidas is a European soccer company... old white guy company.
On the other hand, Oregon is located over on the edge of the country. Once the shine wears off they'll have a hard time keeping the speedy brothers interested in going out there. They also are benefiting from USCw being way down and UCLA just now getting back to above average.
Texas Tech was the shit a few years back. Fresno State was the flavor briefly. Utah was another Boise State flash in the pan. BYU, Houston, and SMU were all riding very high in our lifetimes, but aren't all that anymore.
Bottom line is people love football the most in the south and in Texas. Those others are having or have had their moments, but it won't last.

Oregon doesn't suck. Stanford just has their number. It would be no different if Alabama played them.
But if Oregon does suck, what does that say about UT?

TN doesn't match up well with Oregon and the Ducks exploited that. TN would do better against Stanford. They'd still get their ass kicked, but not as bad as Oregon and Alabama kicked it.
It also didn't help matters that TN had Oregon early and they had a new head coach. Better to get those gimmicky teams late after there is more game video on what they do and who they use to do it.

You usually match up best, with teams in your conference. UT actually matches up better with Bama, than Oregon, because the team has been built to compete with Bama.
We still really don't have deep talent. That is why we really don't match up well with anybody.
Oregon is still a good team. They have great talent.
But the lying Baldrick's school has a football team that is built to compete with Oregon.
THey see them every year, and they see the teams they play, play against Oregon. So they can prepare for Oregon, all year long.
UT had one week to prepare for Oregon. When you have inferior talent, you can't compete having very little time.

Eldrick works both sides of that one. He's also a Nike Duck.
GayJay claims dumblectual property rights to the term Baldrick.
I am surprised that Oregon was only able to put up 0s for 3 quarters. It's their defense that I thought would ultimately let them down.

Remember in about 95, when Florida was tearing it up, with that fast paced offense. Then thy ran up against Tommie Frazier and Nebraska, and got throttled?
A good, disciplined, talented team, will beat one of these gimmick offenses, most of the time when they have time.
That is why the Buffalo Bills never won a Super Bowl. They had that fast paced, no huddle offense, that gave people fits from week to week. But, when you gave a team like Dallas, Washington, or New York, two weeks to prepare for it, the Bills couldn't hang.
A team that has a great defense, and a running game that is proficient, is going to win most every time.
